On June 14th-16th , entrepreneurs from the Podlaskie Voivodeship held a series of business meetings as a part of the economic promotion project “Podlaskie. The natural place to do business”. The mission was led by Deputy Marshal – Marek Olbryś.

The event, organised by the Polish Chamber of Commerce, took place on 17 February at the Olympic Center in Warsaw. The Podlaskie Voivodeship, represented by its Deputy Marshall Marek Olbryś, co-organised the seventh edition of the event. It was a unique opportunity to present Podlaskie’s economic offer to leading Polish entrepreneurs, politicians and diplomats who gathered in Warsaw to talk about forecasts and economic opportunities for regions, Poland, Europe and the world.

Economic cooperation, situation on the Polish-Belarusian border, achievements of Podlaskie’s Olympic athletes in Tokyo – these were the main topics discussed on Monday, 11th November, at the meeting between Marshal Artur Kosicki with Akio Miyajima, Japanese Ambassador to Poland. The meeting was also attended by Hiroaki Tanaka, the Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan and Mariusz Dąbrowski, Director of the Investors Assistance and Business Promotion Bureau at the Marshal’s Office.

Several dozen entrepreneurs, representatives of business organisations and potential foreign partners took part on Wednesday (20.10) in the business seminar “Podlaskie. The natural place to do business”. The event was also attended by Marshal Artur Kosicki, who encouraged the establishment of economic contacts with our companies. The meeting was organised by the Investors Assistance and Business Promotion Bureau at the Podlaskie Voivodeship Marshal’s Office as part of the Podlaskie Voivodeship Week taking place during EXPO 2020 in Dubai.

Marshal Artur Kosicki meets representative of PRC’s Ministry of Commerce Cooperation in the field of investment and commerce, development of the New Silk Road initiative, internships for students in Chinese institutions and corporations – these were the key topics of the meeting attended by Artur Kosicki, Marshal of the Podlaskie Voivodeship, and Peng Huang, Director at the China International Investment Promotion Agency, Ministry of Commerce, PRC, which took place on Wednesday 11 August at the Podlaskie Voivodeship Marshal’s Office.

On June 28th, the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic in Bialystok was the venue of the Railway for Poland – Railway for Podlaskie economic seminar. The event was attended by logistics and transport experts, representatives of business, science and public authorities.

The New Silk Road (NSR), the related Railway for Poland programme, and the role of the Podlaskie region in it were the topics of the press conference, kicking off the economic seminar “Railway for Poland – Railway for Podlaskie” taking place on Monday, June 28.

In comparison with other voivodeships, our region recorded the highest growth in industrial production year by year. Industrial production, with a strong food sector in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, increased by 5.4%. This is further reason to be optimistic about Podlaskie’s economy.

Solution4Labs from Bialystok, which deals with digital transformation in laboratories, was included among the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Central Europe in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ranking. From 2016 to 2019 the company saw its income increase by 2367%, thereby taking 7th place in Central Europe and 3rd in Poland.

The prize is awarded to the best economic entities that contribute to building Poland’s economic potential. The Economic Prize of the President of Poland is awarded once a year and is a valuable and prestigious distinction for Polish enterprises, research institutes and inventors.
